Does Islamic State truly have a political agenda and aspirations or are they really beyond that and just seeking power through terror?

Therefore, we first need to stabilize Afghanistan and that means the US and the Taliban siting down and butting heads. The Taliban do not want ISIS in Afghanistan.

Nothing is constant and never is that more true than when discussing a force in a reaction. ISIS were always going to be and the West ensured that ISIS would evolve from dissatisfaction, frustration, anger and humiliation.

We propped up Governments who we knew would pursue our interests and their own – but never the people’s. ISIS are now in a state of flux, regrouping and ensuring they engage with those who do not want a Taliban Government in Afghanistan and a Western-backed form of democracy in Yemen, Libya, Syria and Iraq.

The Middle East has become a proxy for whoever can supply and arm it. President Trump is right to want to walk away from it all. If I were in Government I would say ‘I’m off call me back when you have Peace’.

Our dependence on Oil is decreasing so why should we be at the beck and call of a region that needs to find its own future rather than one we say it should have.

I want Peace for the Middle East but sometimes you have to walk away and let the ‘water find its own level’. The killing of innocent civilians has to stop – but how to do that?

ISIS is not one person. It has moderates as well as extremists. However, unless we bring Peace to Afghanistan we face the risk of a ‘Terrorist Superpower’. If Al Qaeda, ISIS, the Taliban and Al Shabaab combine into a Military Force and not as disconnected terrorist organisations then we will face a new war in the Middle East. Afghanistan and Pakistan could end up as the latest Proxy War with China and Russia supporting whoever the U.S and West does not.

Therefore, we first need to stabilize Afghanistan and that means the US and the Taliban siting down and butting heads. The Taliban do not want ISIS in Afghanistan. They are fighting for their Country – ISIS were not invited.

ISIS has a Leader who will not turn back from the road he has taken. ISIS will continue to act as dragnet for anybody who has a grudge and a fanaticism. The terrorism will get worse a lot worse as other factors such as Climate Change refugees and a hardening of Western attitudes towards refugees and Aid cause more poverty and more isolation for those who have no Government to help them.

There are 65 million refugees and it is increasing. In that 65 million are those who ISIS will recruit for suicide bombing.

We must isolate ISIS. To do that we need a ‘united’ United Nations Security Council. Nobody is going to say you are in Cloud Cuckoo Land if you summarise that Russia and China are not ‘sympathetic’ to the needs of ISIS. Until the U.S, China and Russia are all on the same page for World Peace ISIS will continue to exist.

Will ISIS become political? It already has. It uses its version of the Quran as a Mandate voted in by the People who support ISIS to carry out as much carnage as possible to innocent people in the hope that they can enlarge their footprint.

I have warned the U.S and the U.K of the dangers of not being able to combat the ISIS Ideology. In particular I have advised Prime Minster May of the dangers of not supporting ‘New Philosophy ’ but Prime Minister May is as deaf to ‘New forms of Counter Terrorism’ as she is to any new idea not from her Ivory Tower of Political Isolationism.

Where the danger lies is in the evolvement of a Political Group who combine all the Terrorist Groups ideologues into a form of Political Philosophy to be used by the disaffected leading to internal unrest and uprisings in many countries – that will happen unless the West stops acting the hypocrite. The West must act as the International Convention of Human Rights demands. This must include a reformed militarised United Nations backed by every member of an enlarged Security Council to bring Peace to the many conflicts in the World.

ISIS are but a seed of disaffection and extremism. ISIS will continue to grow unless we deal with why it exists.

These are the lyrics to the songs I have written that one day the United Nations General Assembly, the Security Council and the Torture Committee will hear as part of a testimony to a motion that seeks Justice for cruel and inhumane acts supported and allowed by a Prime Minister(s) and President(s) – Time, the Truth and the Law will decide the Justice.

Dying in Afghanistan

He lay there in the dust and sand

He bloodied red with his once life

An American Marine so far from his home

But with his Nation at his side

Afghanistan now his lasting memorial

And that of so many others too

His comrades they stood in silent salute

Their tears cried out …Why?

Why Mr President are we still dying in Afghanistan?

Mr President how many more Marines have to die

How many more Marines Mr President have to die in Afghanistan

Before there is an end to the war in Afghanistan?

In the hills stood a Taliban

His tears of pain for his daughter

For she lay alongside the Marine

Both dead from his IED – an IED that he had layed

In the hills a Taliban stood alone

His tears a flood of pain

When President Trump and Taliban

Will there be an end to the war in Afghanistan

When President Trump will the dying in Afghanistan end

When will there be a Peace in Afghanistan

After almost two decades of war, is Afghanistan better or worse?

With over one million Afghanistan men women and children killed by the conflict which began in 1979 and has never ended it is the unmistakable conclusion that we owe the people of Afghanistan a Peace.

This is my answer to the Q on Quora.

With over one million Afghanistan men women and children killed by the conflict which began in 1979 and has never ended it is the unmistakable conclusion that we owe the people of Afghanistan a Peace.

There are no ifs and buts. America, Russia, China and Pakistan have proven themselves chillingly unwilling to provide the forum and the system to ensure that Peace and the fight against terrorism can co-exist.

It is no good ignoring the Taliban. They are part of the history and are part of the future of Afghanistan.

ISIS are not – they are unwanted guest of both the people of Afghanistan and the Taliban. ISIS cannot continue roam the Middle East trying to find a people onto which to force its mistaken culture of God.

If ISIS want an Islamic State they they should form one with the people not against the will of the people.

However, if America does not peruse a dialogue of co-operation with the Taliban then the result will be an ISIS, Taliban and Al Qaeda trifecta of insurgency which could result in a Terrorist Superpower.

Peace in Afghanistan is long overdue for the People who have endured the longest conflict in modern times.

Are they better off? No.

As of today, has ISIS been defeated?

The West and in particular the U.K is now at an even greater risk of terrorist attacks than when ISIS was a capable Military Invading Force.

cropped-facebook-2.jpg

This is my answer to this Question on Quora.

Unfortunately not. Nobody from ISIS signed a surrender document. ISIS’s military capability as an invading force may have been reduced but now the terrorist attacks will intensify.

The West and in particular the U.K is now at an even greater risk of terrorist attacks than when ISIS was a capable Military Invading Force.

Without the use of hard borders the European Union continues to put its citizens at risk from a new reformed ISIS.

Further destabilisation is now more certain in Northern Africa, Asia and Northern Afghanistan.

ISIS is not Al Qaeda. Their roots come from very different forms of the use of the Quran and they have both different paths to what it is they want.

ISIS is secure in the knowledge that it acts for God. ISIS continues to rewrite the Quran with no alternative available for those who seek God as a shelter for their discontent and anger with the ‘Evil of the West’. Which is why Theresa May and the U.K Security Services have put Citizens at risk by ignoring my ‘New Perspective’ of the Word of God.

The Taliban would be the West’s best hope of an eventual defeat of ISIS but the U.S in the absence of a reformed United Nations is going it alone in Afghanistan.

A proxy war in Afghanistan between Russia and the U.S looms ever closer with Russia and China both funding the Taliban.

ISIS is a cause with its own martyrs. It will now be recruiting a whole new group of supporters from within Europe, Asia, Northern Africa and the U.S. with its own page in history as its beacon.

Given time ISIS will be even more militarily capable than it was in Iraq and Syria.

If we are to defeat ISIS than Russia, China and the U.S must be on the same page in Afghanistan.

Why does everyone underestimate the Taliban?

I do not underestimate the Taliban. A 16 year old boy who watched as the Russians invaded his homeland of Afghanistan in 1979 and who fought the Russians and then the American and the British as well the troops from many countries of the World is now 54. He is of the most experienced and battle hardened warriors in the World.

When a young Marine is on duty in Afghanistan he is facing an enemy with a cause, a history and a future. What is the young Marine going to die for?

I have total respect for the American Soldier who is prepared to die to stop the spread of terrorism. But it is not right that America alone should be prepared to do what many other countries do not do in order to stop a rising terror.

The Taliban and ISIS are not the same. One is a cause for a homeland the other is a ideology for a purpose that has no place in Afghanistan or anywhere else in the World. Yes the West has often used its military might for strategic vested interest rather than regional stability and ISIS was born out of a flawed American Foreign Policy but terrorism must be stopped.

The U.S will not defeat terrorism by fighting the Taliban. A dialogue must begin that will ensure the Taliban denounce terrorism and America stops bombing innocent Afghanistan civilians.

Why do Afghan Taliban and ISIS fight while they have same ideology?

truth

This is my answer to this Question from Quora.

The Taliban have a relationship with the history of Afghanistan and a vision for its people.

ISIS is made-up of a group of people from different countries who want to force their vision of an Islamic State into whatever space they can find.

As for ideology ISIS apply an out of context development of ‘key phrases’ selected from the Quran to situations in history and then take the people they want to support and die for them back to that time.

The Taliban live in 2017 and apply the teachings of the Quran to the people as a development of its mortality and principles.

U.S policy in Afghanistan is creating an alliance between the Taliban and ISIS which the Taliban do not want but are being forced into in order to fight the U.S. The Taliban have been fighting since 1979. They will never be defeated. How can you defeat a people who will die for their Country and all it means to them.

It is also why it is important that a new development and understanding of the ‘Word of God’ is developed to counter that of ISIS. However, this is lost on the likes of U.K Prime Minister Theresa May and MI5 who I believe do not understand how to defeat terrorism. Their solutions of increased force and security will not stop those who consider ISIS speaking on behalf of God from wanting to support and act for them.

I have tried to make that point to the United Kingdom Government and MI5 but they do not even reply with an acknowledgement – ignoring the obvious is short-sighted and dangerous.

ISIS and the Taliban are very different. But the U.S is bringing them together when it should be talking to the Taliban in order to assist division – after all China and Russia are. It is not Chinese or Russian troops who are being killed in Afghanistan it is American. It is time to move on.

Are you a bad person? Why aren’t you bad exactly now?

cropped-facebook-2.jpg

This is my answer to this Quora Question.

I ask myself what does it take to be a bad person? Greed, selfishness, apathy? because it would appear many Government Leaders have those attributes.

I could not kill innocent men women and children. They do by war and economic mismanagement.

I am not a bad person because if I was a Prime Minister my Government would not allow innocent men women and children to die in Yemen by supplying arms to cause them to die in that way.

I would not let my AirForce bomb innocent civilians in Afghanistan. Over 1.5 million civilians and soldiers have died in conflict in Afghanistan since 1979.

My Government tells the children of the U.K to be good and moral. Yet it supplies arms that kill children.

I am not bad exactly now because I unlike my Government have a Principle. One that does not aid in the killing of children.

What could be done to end the War in Afghanistan?

What is needed for Peace in Afghanistan is an honesty to the reality

This is my answer to this Question on https://www.quora.com/profile/Desmond-Last

A recognition that the Taliban will never be defeated is an absolute prerequisite for an end to the Conflict in Afghanistan.

Nothing ever stays the same the only constant being a state of change and that applies to the Taliban as much as it does to anybody else.

The Taliban now control 40 per cent of Afghanistan. They have a civil justice system, schools and a health system. They even have a Climate Change Policy. They know that to be a credible Governing Body they must accept social justice in all its many forms.

They also control and have always controlled the mountains. The military Holy Grail in any battlefield is the high ground and it is a military reality that some in the Senior American Military need to remind themselves about.

Over 1.5 million civilians and military personnel have died in Afghanistan since 1979. Now another 4000 American Soldiers are on their way to a land that has given them nothing and taken everything. They will face a battle-hardened Taliban who have not stopped fighting for nearly 40 years – that is a lot of experience

Both Russia and China are talking to the Taliban. China manages to duck every hard decision instead leaving it for American Soldiers to die. China have the Taliban protecting their mineral interests in Afghanistan.

The Taliban do not want ISIS in Afghanistan and neither does President Trump. That is a common ground and one which President Trump should consider as a potential starting point for Peace negotiations.

The Taliban want Peace. If it is to be achieved it is down to one man – President Trump. That is the only way there will ever be Peace – when America accepts the reality of a Taliban who will never give up.

That does not mean giving Afghanistan to the Taliban on a plate. The Taliban cannot force their people to accept them. They too must face the reality that to be part of the World they must allow people to decide for themselves their fate. Just as God has and does.

President Trump is wrong to send more Troops to Afghanistan.

President Trump does not know enough about what is going on in Afghanistan to make a decision which will result in the deaths of more American Soldiers and Afghan Civilians.

He has been wrongly advised. We cannot beat the Taliban. Fighting the Taliban will not control the expansion of terrorism. Nor will it enable Pakistan to stop rival Taliban Groups seek their own Agenda’s. The Taliban now have a Controlling Organization – they will be needed as Allies if Terrorism is to be controlled. They are already acting as a de-facto Government and have established communications with several Governments.

The Taliban control over 40 per cent of Afghanistan. How are an extra 4000 U.S troops going to be able to counter their expansion and ‘kill terrorists’.

America’s terror attacks on its home soil have all been by American Citizens or from Nationals who have been living in America for some time.

China is actively co-operating with the Taliban and so too is Russia. The Taliban are acting as Security in Afghanistan for China’s resources investments.

Why is it that more Americans have to die so that China and Russia can supply the markets that America is ensuring do not suffer terrorist attacks?

America you have lost nearly 3000 good men. How many more?

The Taliban do not want ISIS in control of any part of Afghanistan so the U.S risks the possibility of the Taliban and ISIS working together against the U.S supported by Russia.

Putin is not only getting a free Border Guard but he also get to play his strategic power games against the U.S with the Taliban.

Everybody has their hands in the Till in Afghanistan. Most of the till is American money. Only this week the European Union poured another $100 million into Afghanistan. Where has all the money gone?

President Trump should have pulled out every U.S soldier and said to Russia and China – all yours. They would soon be wanting to work with America once they knew the U.S were leaving

Stop being everybody’s Policeman America – that is what the U.N should be for.

The Taliban are the most experienced fighters in the World. They have been fighting non-stop since 1979 when the Russians invaded Afghanistan. How many of the 4000 U.S troops going to Afghanistan have been fighting since 1979?

Nobody is going to defeat the Taliban and they have the high ground. They own the mountains. They also are the heart and soul of their people.

President Trump I am one of your supporters. But on Afghanistan you are wrong. The Taliban say they want Peace. They say they have had enough of the war. They too do not want terrorism. You should be talking to them not further engaging them in battle.
