How the war is viewed by people is very much going to be a subjective perspective.

I was in my local supermarket in Bicester U.K not so long ago and I pointed out to the man next to me the horrors of the then Alleppo destruction and deaths. His answer was selfish in that he sought to remove the deaths of innocent civilians by saying that ‘they are always fighting we should leave them to it’.

Many people seek to hide the murder of innocent civilians from their conscience by putting the blame on the Syrians themselves.

However, as one who has been subjected to the physical threat of a Goverment I know how difficult it is to protect yourself from the State and its Forces.

The innocent Civilians in Syria cannot rise up against an armed militia, they cannot just walk into the United Nations Security Council and say to Russia stop bombing us. They cannot protest in the streets of Damascus where Assad’s Security Police will photograph and video them so that at the dead of night they can be taken away never to be seen again.

When Hillary Clinton decided to arm the rebels in order to ensure that Iran’s militia and support of Assad was countered she did not do it for the Syrians she did it for Israel. America must stop taking sides in Syria so too Russia.

Syria is all that is wrong with the United Nations. It is a toothless tiger that provides costly ineffective rhetoric and no practical solutions. It needs urgent reform.

My own opinion of Syria is that Assad should be arrested and that the members of the Security Council should combine as one united force without taking sides to disarm the whole country. The amount of weaponry in Syria held by various factions means that a long-lasting Peace is unlikely.

I would expect that there are many like me around the World who are of the same opinion.

These are my views on the violence used by the Spanish Government on the Catalan referendum voters.

The disgusting violent and illegal actions of both the Spanish Police and Government are a reaction to People’s democracy that the People of the European Union should be very concerned about.

The cowardly and self-interested reactions of the E.U and its member state Governments is a display of such unbelievable arrogance and deliberate ignorance of human rights that it should act as a warning to all people of the E.U.

We have just witnessed the true face of the E.U. Governments and Presidents. When faced with a decison that requires the E.U to uphold the rights of the People or force the self-interest of the E.U Super State onto E.U Citizens the E.U will subjugate the people rights.

Democracy is the will of the People for the people and by the People. It is not for a European Super State and the Spanish Government to ignore and act illegally against.

The European Convention of Human Rights is clear explicit and a legal requirement of both the E.U and its Member States to enforce.

“Article 10 states Freedom of expression. Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers.”

As one whose freedom of expression has been suppressed by both the U.K and Australian Government and the E.U who I will be taking to Court, it is a freedom I am very careful to protect.

Both the E.U and the Spanish Government must be taken to Court for what is a clear breach of Human Rights Laws. Any Police who used violence in what was a Peaceful assembly must face criminal charges. The People of Spain should seek the immediate resignation of the Spanish Prime Minister.

We must support the People of Catalonia. If we continue to allow our arrogant and dictatorial Governments to suppress our right to decide the democracy of our own lives then what little human rights we have left will be taken away.

Now that ISIS has been defeated in Syria, should Syrian refugees be sent back to their homeland to rebuild the country?

This was my answer to a question on Quora.

ISIS may have suffered a military defeat but they will not consider it to be anything other than part of their necessary path to a final victory for God. Unless that is understood then we will never be able to produce a strategy to defeat ISIS.

Al Qaeda have had the full military might of the West thrown at them and they are still a relevant force.

The Taliban have endured the Russians and American since 1979 and they now control 40 per cent of Afghanistan.

The conflict in Syria is not over and it is unlikely to ever be over as long as Assad remains the dictator he is.

However, the question raises the subject of why refugees should be allowed to stay in the country who is hosting them should a permanent and secure Peace be achieved in the Country they left.

You cannot keep accepting refugees without considering the effect on your own economic system and culture and you cannot keep avoiding the need for Peace.

There are 65 million refugees in the World. The number is growing. Europe cannot continue to take the increasing number who are fleeing poverty, war and climate change without incurring excessive cost and civil discontent.

Therefore, we must as a World look to a new system of Peace enforcement and management and that means reform of the U.N.

Unfortunately the only person who is able to stand up to the political individual members of the Security Council of the U.N is Nikki Haley – and she is the U.S Ambassador to the U.N.

In summary, yes a longer-term solution is needed for the refugees but unfortunately the war in Syria will keep bouncing back in all its forms of insurgency.
