Possibly. What is the natural development of the self-driving car? A train or other forms of connected transport.
I understand that self-driving transport will bring down labour costs and should improve road safety.
However, if we are all being driven around then we may as well use connected transport ie trains and the like.
I think it is a technical distraction more than a new direction. We also have to consider the security concerns – ie hacking. We are unable to safeguard our computer systems let alone those of self-drive cars.
