The E.U has 27 Member States and would like to remain with 27 Member States.
If the U.K wants all the advantages of fully-paid and involved E.U membership the U.K will have to remain in the E.U.
The E.U is not going to risk the chance of more ‘Brexit(s)’ so that the E.U can trade with the 27 Member States without being a fully paid up member.
I am not sure which ‘Alice in Wonderland’ the UKGOV and Theresa May live in as it varies from day to day.
But yesterday was about May saying the last 12 months of post referendum have been a complete waste of time and I am now going to do my job.
May should have been honest 12 months ago and admitted that the Brexit timetable is impossible to meet.
Theresa May acts as if Brexit was requested by the E.U. The imaginative response May repeatedly seeks will have to come from the U.K. not the E.U.
It would be obvious to many in the U.K that life post-Brexit is going to be very difficult. All the transition period is going to do is pay $20 billion to the E.U so that companies in the U.K will have time to pack their bags and leave. May is too weak to insist that the U.K receives it full financial commitments from the E.U. Yesterday we witnessed the end of our ability to lead the negotiations – yesterday May bent over in front of the World to the E.U.
We will get what the E.U wants to give us and it will be no better or no worse than Norway or Canada.
I suggest we stay in and reform the E.U – which is how all this started.
