My answer to Why so many people are angry about US dropped MOAB in Afghanistan? While the targets are the ISIS.
Answer by Desmond Last:
I am not angry about it though I have asked a question on Quora regarding the cost.
No civilians were killed. An ISIS command center was wiped out. North Korea needed to know they cannot keep on exploding nuclear weapons.
All good.
But………………………… it will not stop ISIS nor is it the correct way to deal with North Korea without first meeting with him.
I personally would get on Air Force One and meet with Kim Jong Un in North Korea.
As for ISIS until we get rid of why ISIS exist and gain support then ISIS will never be bombed out of existence – Vietnam should remind us of that.
We cannot have two legal systems. One for ISIS when they kill civilians and the other for Assad and ourselves when we kill civilians. We must also stop supporting corrupt regimes and Governments.
If we are to defeat terrorism we must be ‘squeaky clean’ – we must hold the moral high-ground otherwise we are without credibility and ISIS will continue to gain support.
President Trump has drawn his red lines. At a cost of $40 million for Syria and $16 million for Afghanistan the $56 million he has spent in just over a week is a big fat red line. Whereas my $2 pen which has produced a perspective on Counter Terrorism which President Trump continues to ignore comes cheaper. Time will tell who is right.
