Which is more important: protecting and encouraging job growth or protecting the environment?

My answer to Which is more important: protecting and encouraging job growth or protecting the environment?

Answer by Desmond Last:

To me both are equally important. In order to be able to provide economically sustainable solutions to climate change we must be able to provide the finance and budget to do so. ‘Jobs growth’ is perhaps not quite the correct term I would have chosen to use ‘maintain employment’.

The problem we have at the moment is that the International Agreement (Paris 21) to reduce carbon emissions and stop processes that produce a negative change to our climate is not mandatory.

President Trump who has well and truly accepted the ‘Alice in Wonderland’ version of climate change has illustrated how ineffective the agreement is.

At the G7 meeting today 11 April 2017 the Secretary of Energy Rick Perry said in relation to Climate Change the U.S. “is in the process of reviewing many of its policies and reserves its position on this issue, which will be communicated at a future date.”

This shows how ineffective the Paris Agreement is.

President Trump has been hijacked. It is because he made a promise to create jobs for America and his ‘buddies’ who he appointed own or are part of the industries who would be affected by Climate Change Polocies which reduce carbon emissions.

However in their haste to protect their oil and gas dollars they have missed the point.

You cannot employ people when their workplace is under water, when they have been evacuated, when there is no power or a drought which means their factory has no water, or when their home or farm is on fire.

President Trump has gone in like a windmill. Blowing a gust of wind and then running out of steam. How can hundreds of thousands of scientists all be wrong? Many of them were taught in American Universities. His own NASA who he trusts to send Americans to the Moon are advocates of man-made climate change.

You do not need to be a scientist to figure it out.

This sums up Climate Change: “Mechanics will know what I mean. Block the rad, cut off the fan belt, bust the heat exchanger and pull out the thermostat – that is now our Climate”.

Generation Ground Zero Climate Change Hell

The world needs a new plan for Climate Change. One that we all agree on and that deals with the causes of man-made climate change and protects jobs and business.

Climate Change technology will make economies more efficient and will also provide jobs and export technology.

Should China and India be faced with an increasingly more competitive American economy then they too may do an about face on Climate Change policy. In which case our Climate will become even more toxic.

I have produced a solution but like all our Governments President Trump is not prepared to listen to new ideas let alone accept those that do not come from their inner circle.

My solution protects jobs and the climate and no doubt there are many others who have similar ideas. But President Trump is now lost in the circle of our World Power Elite who have made a mess of our World and continue to so.

Let us hope Trump Tower in New York has life-boats he may need them one day.
