My answer to What do you think about school dress codes?

Answer by Desmond Last:

Schools should only have one dress code and that is a school uniform that comes at the same price and cut for all pupils.

The length of young ladies skirts should be knee-length to ensure modesty.

To be sure a lot of young people will disagree.

But in our increasingly divided and income disparate communities it allows those who are not so well-off to feel equal.

It also slows the ‘gang member’ evolvement.

The young people (I call them Gen Ground Zero because they have to face climate change) of our world have been let down.

Where are the standards?

Where are the moral examples?

Where is the leadership?

Therefore we should try and provide them with an equality at school.

Let the final year dress to impress and let the young people have a say in the style and design of the uniform.
