My answer to Which motorcycle would you prefer for a long ride? Which country would you like to ride in if you got …
Answer by Desmond Last:
I rode across America on my Harley-Davidson 883 Iron. One day I have to return to the United States to take the Government of America to court for human rights abuse.
I also have to go to Canada to do the same. I intend to use my 883 Iron which I left in Denver Colorado to do so.
It will be a nice ride to the steps of the White House to issue the leader of the American Government -I believe his name is Donald Trump (lol) to appear before a Grand Jury.
The American manufacturing industry undersells itself. I believe it is because they are so addicted to the Defense Industry that they have ignored the potential of the rest of American manufacturing.
I had never ridden a Harley any distance before I rode my 883. It has lots of torque and handles well enough for me to ground the foot-pegs around corners without any loss of adhesion.
The fuel economy was very good and it was comfortable even after 8 hours in the saddle. The center of gravity is low which allows you to tuck into corners with confidence.
America also
undersells itself as a Tourist destination. Considering the circumstances I was travelling in I found the people warm and friendly and willing to engage in conversation – unlike the people of the U.K.
The roads are good and it is well worth riding off the beaten track. I like antiques and there are plenty of shops in towns that are by-passed by tourists. The shop staff are always polite and friendly. America has a lot to offer the World besides failed Nation State building.
See you soon America.
