My answer to Why is Tony Blair given a platform?
Answer by Desmond Last:
He is not given a platform he just takes one. He decides to turn up in his chauffeured driven car (to avoid the jeering People) and make a speech.
The Media turn up to listen to him because he used to be a Prime Minister and he still sells newspapers and airtime.
We all listen to him because we are all too lazy to hit the remote and read of him because he is on the same newspaper page as the weather.
Once he has made his speech he leaves to make another speech somewhere for whoever pays him until it is time for his next airing.
Perhaps if we are lucky he will emigrate.
