My answer to Since Americans are statistically more likely to be killed by their own furniture than by terrorists, …

Answer by Desmond Last:

No we should not. IKEA have done their best to design workable temporary accommodation for refugees so they should get our support.

However the question makes a statement that President Trump is attempting to stop.

We should not accept any terrorism. Why should we become accustomed to watching in horror as people run screaming from an airport lounge whilst others lay bloodied and torn apart in the rubble of a terrorist attack.

I know that more Muslims have been killed in conflicts than any other group. I know that over 1.5 million people and soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan since 1979. I know that over 300,000 people have been killed in the Syrian Civil war. I know that for Al Qaeda and ISIS it is an act of revenge for all those killed.

But that does not make it right for them to kill innocent civilians. President Trump wants those countries named in the ban, all who have Governments, Police, Military and Intelligence Services to stop the export of terrorism.

Terrorism affects us all. The cost takes away a hospital bed, a Police Officer and a carer to look after your elderly mother. The cost is escalating and the tragedies.

Whist I condemn President Trump for ignoring my new work on Counter Terrorism I do not condemn him for doing his job – to protect Americans from Terrorism.

Since Americans are statistically more likely to be killed by their own furniture than by terrorists, should we declare war on IKEA?
