It is extremely doubtful if their rights can be compensated for by any monetary consideration.
We have all had plenty of warnings that are in the Public domain which indicate that coastal low-lying areas will be subject to flooding and will become permanently submerged.
The information available includes recorded data and calculated extrapolation of that data.
Coastal flooding is a real danger. It does not matter whether you believe in climate change or not you still have to deal with rising sea-levels. House prices, businesses and local economies will be adversely affected.
Climate Change is an accelerating rate of change. That means the incidence of weather extremes will increase and the intervals between extremes will reduce.
There will be a point at which the duration and intensity will result in a permanent state of climate change.
