My answer to I want to open a food truck business. Will this happen for me?
Answer by Desmond Last:
I ran Matilda’s in Sydney with 40 food trucks. On the day I became General Manager/CEO I had never seen a food truck. The company was about to fold and the creditors were knocking on the door.
7 years later I was instrumental in selling it to Spotless Catering in Melbourne for several million dollars.
You need the number one ingredient for success; Commonsense.
You need the number two ingredient for success; There is only one way to do the job – the right way.
You need the number three ingredient for success: You have to know who and where you are selling to.
Finally you need to make a profit.
In Catering there are two other Golden rules. Everything is squeaky clean and you must taste your food everyday which must be the best.
Other than that food trucks make good money when ran with good sense.
