My answer to What incident of your life changed you completely or your view towards people, in a good or bad way?

Answer by Desmond Last:

For most of my life I have always wondered how was Adolph Hitler able to cause so many people to carry out Evil Acts which previously they would never have considered themselves capable of.

Then I saw the children of Aleppo in Syria screaming in Pain. 7 billion people also watched. We could have stopped the pain. We could have all gone on General Strike. We could have refused to pay our Taxes. We could have protested en mass. But we did not. There are hundreds of thousands of Human Rights Lawyers they could have started numerous Court Actions at the International Level. They did not. We could have expelled Ambassadors. We all did nothing. Obama played Golf.

As a Human Race we have learned nothing from the horrors World War 2 and so many since. That is one of the incidents that has made me realise that the Human Race still live in the Dark Ages.

Apathy is the manifestation of Greed. That is how Hitler succeeded.
