My answer to How can one gain peace of mind and not fear death?
Answer by Desmond Last:
I do not fear death. Why? I believe in God. I have done everything it is possible for me do in order to improve the lives of those who would benefit from my work.
That is my peace of mind. I know there is a Heaven and a Hell. In my dreams I have seen both. Hell is for those who do not respect the gift of life and innocence from God
Heaven and all its rewards are for those who have done everything it is possible to do in order to improve the lives of others less fortunate than themselves.
God is like Article 30 of the International Convention of Human Rights. Article 30 makes it impossible for any person to be exempt from any of the articles contained in the Convention. This includes the children of Aleppo.
The benchmark is the question ‘Would God act this way’?
Would God sit in a fighter jet and aim missiles at Aleppo knowing they will kill children?
That is my inner peace and my lack of fear of death. I use my writing to awaken in each of us the principle of respect for the dignity of life and the protection of innocence.
I am not a President or a Prime Minister. Like most people I am not able to make the decisions that can bring Peace and Security to those in conflicts and absolute poverty around the world.
God knows this. He is content if we have done that which is possible for each of us to do.
That is my Peace of Mind.
