My answer to What role should Iain Duncan Smith play in the Tory Party following the Brexit vote?
Answer by Desmond Last:
Theresa May has surrounded herself with Yes men and women. This is understandable. May is a drancion style of Prime Minister. Once her mind is made up that is it. Which is both good and bad.
But she does not have the right minds surrounding her to enable new thought to prevail.
As I have discovered, and no doubt others, Theresa May will not listen to anybody but her selected inner circle.
We have had no debate and no vote as to the future of a May U.K. Those of us who have new ideas of merit have become outcasts. May has shut the drawbridge to new thought and entombed herself in an Ivory Tower of old ideas.
Which is a shame. Because during Brexit I thought that Iain Duncan Smith spoke well. I would have liked to seen Duncan Smith at the Brussels negotiating table or as Foreign Secretary.
The U.K needs new ideas and May is not going to get them from her current Cabinet. They will be too busy saying ‘Yes Prime Minister’.
