Facebook has made the biggest mistake. It has made an error of judgement that is the cause of misery, crime and degradation of morality. Facebook like Google, Microsoft, Amazon and Apple have become the darlings of the Stock Market and all without any care or consideration for the fear and misery they have caused.
I read a Quora profile description of a young Canadian woman who had suspended her account becasue of comments both insulting and demeaning. Ok you can block comments. But most comments are worth reading and provide an alternative view.
These large Internet Companies have made billions. All without any Social Responsibility. You cannot speak to them, communicate with them or ever as a customer have any redress from them unless you can afford to take them to court.
Unbelievable. They do not allow you the customer to speak to anybody.
Their mistake has been to allow false and anonymous identity to be used on their sites.
I have been the subject of trolls. I am a 60 year old male and believe me I have seen it all. But even for me the level of filth and insult has been disgusting. For women it must be very upsetting and disturbing.
Facebook has made a commercial decsison not to put positive identification in place.
Well it is their biggest mistake. Because a lot more people would use Facebook if they knew that identification was verified. It would reduce the filth and degradation.
There is an underworld on Facebook. It markets children and traffics women. You only have to look at some of the photos to realise that they are intended to arouse interest enquiry.
Facebook has lost revenue from potential users who do not want to be subject to the mindless and disgusting comments. It has also lost the opportunity to lead the world in moral reform.
I like Facebook. But we are the Face of Facebook and women and children must have much better protection.
