My answer to Which of these countries would be more interesting to visit: Norway or Iran? Why?
Answer by Desmond Last:
Iran. They have the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Who of course I would like to meet – and will do one day.
A country that Hillary Clinton thinks is going to nuke us all one day – I want to see if they all hate us that much.
A people who seem to have such an interest in life but we rarely get to hear from them. Mosques – lots of them. I am a Catholic but as God does not have a segregated Heaven I enjoy visiting all Faiths.
I want to know why they do not like Israel – God does.
To me Iran is the North Korea of the Middle East. Yes you can read all about Iran but we hear so little about how they view the world and see their place in it – thanks to our Western Establishment Press.
I have a deep interest in developing my new Philosophy which includes all Faiths but has a relevance to Islam and reducing the risk of suicide bombers.
So I would enjoy speaking to Clerics and Imams. I would also like to visit those in remote parts of Iran to understand how they use their Faith to support and guide their lives.
I want to know more about the cultural differences between Sunni and Sufi and whey Iran has not brought Peace to Yeman.
I study Economics. Iran’s economy, particularly in light of the eased sanctions would be very interesting to me.
I am sure Norway is well worth a visit. But I feel that I will learn so much more about how we are to live together when one day I visit Iran.
