Bar work and Security work. These are two areas that an student who has common sense can get a job in.
You will be required to attend a course and pass a test.
The easiest one is the Bar Licence. It is a weekend course and is run both by the TAFE colleges and private companies.
Stick to the outer inner city suburb as the City bars will want experience. Canterbury, Drummoyne, Leichhardt, Marrickville and Randwick are the areas where you will find work.
Security work is plentiful. There are weekend events and static guard jobs as well as shopping center work.
The course for security guard is longer about a week full time about six weeks part-time.
Once you have your license you will be able to work at weekend events which pays well.
