My answer to What are the difficulties that a Muslim woman wearing the head-cover may face, when moving to Australi…

Answer by Desmond Last:

None that I am aware of. Muslims in Sydney are part of the Australian way of life and so to in Melbourne.

They have their own communities and are not treated any different to any other culture or group.

Australia unlike the U.K and parts of Europe has had a long-time for all the different cultures to co-exist.

I used to visit the mosque at Auburn and go the local shops afterwards. I was just as welcome as they were in my suburb of Darlington.

Because Muslims are an interwoven part of Australian society they do not need to highlight themselves to gain rights, so there are very few racial incidents.

Nobody will blink an eyelid and will not treat you any different to anybody else.
