My answer to Was the London knife attack a terrorist attack?
Answer by Desmond Last:
Do not rely on the Metropolitan Police or any Psychiatric Unit they use to determine if a knife attack is has a terrorist causal link. If you look back on all the recent attacks not just in the U.K but also France and the U.S mental health is always to blame.
This is not only dangerous it is misleading.
To suggest that people with mental health issues are not affected by events around world, and do not associate themselves with ISIS or any cause that ISIS have, would suggest that they will miss the early signs of ISIS influence.
The Fixated Threat Assessment Center and the Fixated Threat Research Group used by the Metropolitan Police do not have the depth of understanding, with which to address the emotional pathways, that ISIS ‘Ideology of its Philosophy’ can provoke
Both the FTAC and the Metropolitan Police have ignored my new development of a Philosophy to counter that of ISIS.
In doing so, the FTAC and the Metropolitan Police ,have shown that they do not understand what it is that causes somebody to commit a terror attack, as a single person that has had no direct contact with ISIS.
I also have first-hand experience of the FTAC.
Twice they have insisted my mental health be assessed as they considered me to be a threat to Public Safety. Each time I was told I was fine. I have a letter from the NHS stating my mental health is fine
Why was I referred. Because of my writing. Uh? The same writing that is on Quora.
Yes the knife attack could be linked to terrorism. But do not expect the Metropolitan Police and the FTAC to publicly admit.
