My answer to Which generation of humans has been the most peaceful?

As a generation I would say it was that of the period of Peace between the First and Second World Wars. 1918 – 1939.
After the sheer carnage of the Western Front, Gallipoli and the death of 38 million military personnel and civilians it was the ‘war to end all wars’.
Woodrow Wilson the U.S.A President laid the foundation for the United Nations with his 14 points. These he wanted the Parties to the Armistice to the Agreement to include – in the agreement was the League of Nations which eventually became the United Nations.
Nobody wanted a war again. They went to any lengths to avoid conflicts – even though the United Kingdom nearly went to war with Turkey again, when Greece invaded Turkish Territory.
Lloyd George the U.K Prime Minister fought hard to ensure the Germans were were not starved after the war but France and Woodrow Wilson wanted the maximum reparations possible
The disarmament and the reparations Germany had to pay the Allies played a huge part in the rise of Adolph Hitler.
It was a time of comparative Peace. Unlike World War Two Communism was still not perceived to be an enemy so there was no Cold war and the support of conflicts by Russia and the U.S.A
Here we are all these years later and we still have no World Peace.
The conflicts are getting worse and more in number, the divisions greater and the cost more un-affordable in both deaths and resources.
We need new ideas, new visions and strong action if we are to bring Peace to our World.
What we do not need is David Cameron, Barack Obama and the U.K media stopping me presenting my new ideas for World Peace to the People of the World.
