My answer to Is there such thing as "peace of mind"?
Answer by Desmond Last:
As an in individual I am quite happy with my Peace of Mind. I have done everything I am able to in order to make our World better.
Is that not the best Peace of Mind an individual can have?
Would God ask anything else of us? Even in our lives if all we do is work, pay our taxes and vote for the most humane Political Party is that not enough?
What can Mr People do to make the world a better place and give him or her Peace of Mind?
Is it possible to have Peace of Mind when at the back of our overfilled, but not working to anywhere near the minds potential, is the thought that today a child will be born who in 2 months will be dead. The child will spend all nuts life in pain and misery. It will never know the world promised to her or him when Obama visited Africa.
How can you have Peace of Mind when right now any one of the Nine countries in the world who possess a total of 15,375 nuclear weapons could destroy your world?
How can you have Peace of Mind when you know everyday the world become more toxic as the 4000 chemicals in the air we breath and you can develop face cancer?
Thus we arrive at the point of conscience. Which I call Humanity – the conscience of mankind. I used my story ‘Angel’ to describe the progress of humanity by Mankind. It was stolen and copied.
But what of the Peace of mind of the Fighter Bomber Pilot who knows his bomb load will probably kill innocent children. The law does not allow the murder of innocent civilians. He has every right to refuse. He is not able to use the defense ‘he was told to do it’.
That defense was removed by the Nuremberg Court of Justice in 1945.
We give him his Peace of Mind which in turn reduces ours. We allow our Governments to support or carry out civilian killings.
Peace of Mind cannot in my opinion be achieved without an acceptance of reality. If you try to keep reality out of your mind ,then you will constantly be confronted with it. Leading to fear anxiety and in extreme cases, suicide.
I do not accept my circumstances which in itself is a Peace of Mind. If I accepted the reality forced on me by David Cameron, Jeremy Corbyn and the people of the UK, my hopes for a better world will never be realized.
Just as young people must never accept the vermin who gang up on them on a Facebook. Mark Zuckewrberg is so busy filling his bank account and ‘giving ‘look at me’ speeches that he will not introduce positive I.D.verification. Confronting them by posting a page with their details, as I have done, gives Peace of Mind. Read PersonalCivilSuits
Standing up for yourself always gives Peace of Mind.
Peace of Mind comes questioning. From wanting personal fulfillment from a Nation and a World you can be proud of being part of.
Not accepting the excuses we have for Governments is a piece of mind. Somehow we are meant to get Peace of Mind, for the future of our lives and children, from Governments who each day make our World more dangerous.
How can we get Peace of mind whilst we no longer trust our Governments?
