My answer to Why didn't globalization bring peace to the world?
Answer by Desmond Last:
How could a system of capital transfer from the many to the few ever bring World Peace.
How could a system of undirected economic growth ever benefit those to whom the growth was not directed and thus not allow them to seek democratic Government through economic empowerment.
How could a system of resource utilisation ever ensure all those who laboured to produce it were able to use the excess value, when the value the produced was not returned to them?
How could a system of economic regulation that produced a government cartel ( G7,G10 and G20) for the distribution of the production from countries not in their cartels provide regional security.
bring Peace through Economic Unity.
How could a system that demanded excess competition through the cost of labour by labour availability free trade agreements not reduce wages and hence living conditions not provoke Civil unrest.
How could a system that took economic sovereignty away from governments and gave it to Quasi World State Organisations such as the IMF and World Economic Forum ever improve social Justice ansd Human Rights.
How could a system that encourages Global Pollution sending Production centres to those countries whose primary concern is economic growth at any environmental cost ever benefit the world.
How could a Global System that does not have one person elected by the Poeple it so states it represent ever represent the People?
We as individuals of the democratic Collective do not have a voice or a vote within those who control the Global flow of capital.
In its present form of Labour Control and Capital Monopolisation can never bring World Peace. If we want it to do that than those organisations that promote it such as the World Bank, the World Economic Forum and the IMF must be voted in by us as individuals not promoted by vested self-interest and Goveremnt.
