My answer to Is Boris Johnson an overrated or underrated politician?
Answer by Desmond Last:
I did not know that he was a Politician. He seems to be more like some overgrown schoolboy to whom everything is a joke or a vague and flippant remark. I have watched politics closely since my return to the UK three and a half years ago. I have yet to hear him detail any policy and provide any answer that does not have some sort of Sir Winston Churchill overtone. He did not make a success of the London Olympics and he has hardly re-inspired London.
I find it amazing that the UK media (who will print anything and ask no direct and probing question) keep stating he is a possible Prime-Minister. When asked about leaving the EU he does not detail any plans, his figures are based on assumptions, no modelling is ever displayed to us and yesterday he refereed his response to World w war 2 history. He dresses as if he has just got out of bed – hardly the look of a potential Statesman. I have Systems and ideas that would have improved the UK and the World – he has ignored me totally – Why? His wife is a Human Rights lawyer yet she allows the gross abuse of my human rights. Modern economizes are not best left to fools and Osborne and certainly not to Johnson. You need a good grasp of the complexity of capital liquidity and the ownership of its movement. The World needs to step out of the closed world of secret trade deals, the destructive G7 and G20 cartels, the unfair level playing fields and the escalation of military spending. It has to deal with the problems of climate change and war and absolute poverty. W
e need new ideas not some sort of reborn poor copy of Sir Winston Churchill. I wanted the EU to reform. I thought it promoted Social Justice and Human Rights – I was wrong. For that reason I am voting to leave. But if you had asked me to campaign on Economic Grounds I would have said that I would rather reform the EU and stay in – and my proposals for reform would have been accepted. Unfortunately for the people of the UK Cameron did not reform the EU as promised. They are now faced with a stark choice. Johnson as PM if it is a Yes to leave vote or Cameron if is a No to Stay vote. Not much of a chocie. Johnson is a historian he lives in the past and dreams of the future – but he has no detailed plans for it. How can he ignore the mounting protests about the Global Criminal Group in the UK who are exporting their disgusting murderous filth to the World and ever be taken seriously?
